1. The components should be clean and smooth. Mechanical sealing components, related mechanical equipment components, tools, lubricating oil (grease), and wiping materials (cotton yarn, white cloth, silk, etc.) should be very clean. The sealing end face of the dynamic and static rings should be wiped with white silk or soft gauze.
2. Trim chamfers and fillets. Chamfers such as shafts and sealing end caps should be trimmed smooth, and the relevant rounded corners of shafts and end caps should be polished and polished.
3. During installation, apply turbine oil or l0 engine oil to the moving and stationary rings (especially the blood at the sealing end), secondary sealing rings, shafts, and end caps to reduce friction and avoid damaging the sealing faces of the stationary and secondary sealing rings.
4. Assemble the auxiliary sealing ring.
1) The rubber auxiliary sealing ring cannot be soaked and cleaned with gasoline or kerosene to avoid expansion, deformation, and premature aging.
2) After installing the O-ring on the moving or stationary ring assembly, it should be straightened to prevent twisting and ensure that the burrs are in a free state on the cross-section. If the burr is 45o, O-rings with slight rough burrs can still be used. But pay attention to the location of the burrs. When pushing the component, one side of the O-ring will slide relative to the sealing part (gland or sealing chamber), and the burrs on that side should be behind the sliding direction. Otherwise, the burrs will flip upwards and be in the sealing position, affecting the sealing effect.
3) When pushing components, prevent O-ring damage. The main forms of damage include falling blocks, cracks, bumps, curls, twists, etc.
5. Adjust the compression amount of the machine seal according to technical requirements, and refer to the product manual for its value. Otherwise, excessive compression will increase the specific pressure on the end face and accelerate the wear of the end face; If it is too small, the pressure ratio between the end faces of the moving ring and the sealing ring will be insufficient, and the seal will fail.
6. A press or drilling machine should be used to install the static ring component into the gland (or sealing chamber). Mechanical sealing parts or components shall not be subjected to impact force under any circumstances. Clean paper or cloth should be placed on a pressurized surface to avoid damaging the sealing end.
7. After assembling the dynamic or static ring assembly, press the compensation ring with your hand to check if it is installed in place and flexible; Is the elastic opening ring (in some structural mechanical seals, the axial positioning compensation ring of the elastic opening ring) reliably positioned.
8. Check whether the perpendicularity between the sealing end and the centerline of the shaft (or sleeve) meets the requirements.
9. The reverse pin lead of the static ring component should be accurate. When pushing the static ring assembly, the pin groove of the assembly should align with the pin. After pushing it into place, measure the distance between the end face of the component and one end of the sealing chamber to determine whether it is installed in place.
When tightening the bolts to compress the end cover, the force must be applied evenly, symmetrically, and carefully. It should be tightened several times, but not all at once to avoid deviation or even damage to the static ring.
11. After installing the moving ring, ensure that it moves flexibly axially on the shaft (press the spring with the moving ring and then spring back freely).
